My Profile
I trained in Nutritional Therapy at the Raworth Centre in Dorking and a member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy. I work in many areas of nutrition and currently busy with workshops as well as running my own private practice.
I have programme managed the Mole Valley Mend programme (www.mendprogramme.org) which works with obese youngsters and their families. It is through this involvement that I have gained a particular interest in child nutrition out of which sprang my last venture 'Tiny Tums Nutrition Workshops'. These workshops, aimed at the under 5s, look at many aspects of early years nutrition and seek to empower parents to make healthy food choices for themselves and their children.
MEND - Fitter, healthier, happier families
MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition...Do it!) is a social enterprise dedicated to reducing global overweight and obesity levels.
We help children and their families become fitter, healthier and happier by offering free healthy living programmes in the local community.
Established in 2004, the MEND Programme was devised at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the University College London Institute of Child Health.
We work with local, regional and national partners to deliver over 400 MEND programmes across the world, which have benefitted over 15,000 families.
'TINY TUMS' Nutrition Workshops
Just like adults, young children need energy (calories) from food and nutrients such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals, to make sure their bodies work properly and can repair themselves.
Although toddlers can eat the same food as adults, before they're two years old children can't eat large amounts of food at one sitting. So, until then, give your child meals and snacks packed with calories and nutrients (nutrient dense foods)
- Tips for your toddler
- What should I give them?
- How a toddler's diet is different
- What to avoid
